Judging Amy was an American television drama which was very much popular during the starting of 2001. It was telecast from September 19, 1999 to May 3, 2005, on CBS-TV. The leading characters of this series were Amy Brenneman and Tyne Daly. The main character Amy Brenneman was a judge who worked in a family court. She dealt different families, family related problems and cases. Most of the episodes were emphasized on the life of Brenneman, her own experiences of being a divorced mother, and also the experiences of her mother who a social worker was working in the field of child welfare. Mainly the life experiences of Brenneman�s mother were described in the whole series.
The American TV drama, Judging Amy continues for sex season from 1999 to 2005. But it was canceled by the comity of CBS-TV on May 18, 2005. The Turner Network Television cable TV decided to broadcast the recaps of the series and they also continues it in the whole USA for two years but in the year 2007 the show was canceled by replacing it with another one. In August 31, 2007 it was telecast for the last time.
Amy gray (played by Brenneman) was a young New York lawyer who separated from her husband and moved back with her little daughter to her favorite home town of Hartford in Connecticut. At the age of 34 she became the judge of a family court in that city. She got the divorce at that time and started a new life with her daughter and mother. Her mother was a very active woman who worked for the Department of Children and Families. Amy quitted the job at last and ran for the U.S. Senate.
Judging Amy mainly took place in the city of Hartford in Connecticut. The Hartford Judicial District Court was shown frequently in the series having the address 1265 (street unknown). But the real address was artford Judicial District, 95 Washington Street. The hearing of family matters were taken in the 90 Washington Street and the hearing of Superior Court Juvenile were taken in 920 Broad Street, Hartford, CT 06106. Including all of these the total dramatic environment were created by the director.
